CT indoctrination for children
Science for Kids
Hmmm. Well I see they are teaching my children about chemtrails and reengineering the earth in their 7th grade class. Those "adults" who still have any question about the "spray programs" should perhaps just ask their kids.
Though I try and stay on top of what my children are learning, this was the first time I saw this section of the Centre Point Learning Science I Essential Interactions Science book (Be REAL interesting to see the politics of the folks putting this out.)
From the 5.19 section of "Solutions for Global Warming , I learn the following right next to a picture of a "commercial" looking jet plane with orange/red paint on the upper half (familiar) and a Logo saying "Particle Air" (I kid you not): "Figure 1- Jet engines running on richer fuel would add particles to the atmosphere tocreate a sunscreen"!!! my exclamation marks)
Well, why did I spend all of that time doing research when I could have just ask my kids!
And not to be outdone I also learned from their book under the heading 'Use Sun Block' (and they are being taught this at school) that the other answer to the books question: "Could we deliberately add particles to the atmosphere" is the suggestion that "Burning coal adds soot to the air. Creating either kind of sunscreen would be cheap."
Well, again, I never would have guessed. Cheap, huh. Burning coal!? I scanned the page further looking for the section on costs associated with the health affects but surprisingly that section seemed to have been left out. Also the cost to the solar industry and the "value" of the loss of sunlight etc. You would think that if they had the space to also include a picture of a helicopter seeding the ocean with iron (which they did), that they could have also perhaps at least showed planting trees, or turning down thermostats, or bicycling, or any of the other ways not to ADD to the problem.
Though we gave up the idea of home schooling, perhaps time to reconsider. Hmmmm.

Residents fight off mobile phone mast
A group of residents in Kew, south west London, trying to prevent the erection of a mobile phone mast, have staged a 24-hour guard along their road.
The service provider o2 has tried to put up the equipment in North Road four times but have been thwarted by local people occupying the plot of land.
On the last occasion, residents occupied the spot for four days on a rota system.
The company says it needs to erect more masts in the Kew area and is looking at alternative sites.

Yesterday (February 21) you posted the DAILY MAIL article on Richard Box, the British artist-in-residence at Bristol University's Physics Department whose current outdoor show demonstrates irrefutably how pylons with overhead power lines can illuminate fluorescent lights. I would now like to add the following references:

A few words regards the first of these, the RCA Royal College of Art) show: In 2001, the Victoria and Albert Museum held an exhibition of works on this theme by RCA designers, Drs Dunne and Raby. The Sunday Times (March 4, 2001, Culture Magazine, pages 10-11) also ran a feature article with good colour illustrations on this show. It even included an "Electricity Drain, a stool with a one-pin, earth-only plug and a buttock-shaped metal plate embedded in the seat. Sit on it and electricity drains from your body." The new adoptive owner of this stool became a woman "who cannot kiss her daughter without giving her an electric shock." (The Sunday Times) The show is described as follows on the RCA website:
"Placebo (2000): a collection of objects exploring ideas of mental well-being in relation to electromagnetic fields in the home: Compass Table: MDF, glass, compass needles; Nipple Chair: MDF, plastic, electronics; Electro-draft Excluder: MDF, conductive foam; Parasite Light: MDF, LEDs, electronics; De-electrification Stool: MDF, stainless steel, mains cable; Phone Table: MDF, electroluminescent panel, electronics; GPS Table: MDF, electronics; Attic: MDF. The Nesta report focuses on that (in)famous RF tooth implant: "The tooth implant was designed by James Auger, from Derby, whose work was chosen from the Royal College of Art's renowned annual summer exhibition - The Show 2001. James was helped by fellow Royal College of Art graduate Jimmy Loizeau, from Rhyl. James and Jimmy have recently joined the Well-Being group at Media Lab Europe and are continuing their investigations into futuristic biotechnology, with a particular emphasis on the social implications of technology. The design builds upon the current form of replacement surgery, such as artificial joints, to produce the first commodity based in-body product. A micro-vibration device and a wireless receiver are implanted in the tooth during routine dental surgery and sound is transferred from the tooth into the inner ear by bone resonance, converting digital signals to audio. Sound reception is totally discreet enabling information to be received anywhere and at anytime ... "

The article "Getting to the Heart of Chernobyl" by John Meagher, was published in a major Irish broadsheet, the IRISH INDEPENDENT, page 15, Friday, 27 February, 2004.
Meagher reports that the film "Chernobyl Heart" by New York documentary maker, Maryann DeLeo, is an Oscar contender in the short documentary category tomorrow night. It gains its title, he says, from "the cardiac defect that has manifested itself in thousands of Belarussians since the catastrophe." The 40 minute film highlights the devastating human effects of radiation by visiting "cancer wards, operating theatres and orphanages" and he warns that many scenes are very distressing "--from the skeleton-like child staring listlessly from his cot to the infant with a tumour the size of a tennis ball on its back."
Meagher quotes Adi Roche, Irish founder of the Children's Chernobyl Project Charity and a person who plays a prominent part in the film, “What makes it [the Chernobyl disaster] so awful is the fact that the radiation can't be seen. It's this invisible killer that's all around and its impact will be felt for decades to come.” Adi also notes that the United Nations has requested the film for viewing so “it could be a very influential film for policy makers.”
There are, however, some prominent academics and other radiation specialists here in Ireland who continue to deny in the face of astounding contrary evidence that the Chernobyl radiation accident has had any significant health effects on the population of Belarus. For instance, Professors Philip W. Walton, (Applied Physics) and Wil J.M. Van Der Putten (Medical Physics) at NUI (National University of Ireland). Galway hold this view and cite the published findings of UNSCEAR (the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation) as presented to the UN General Assembly in 2000 in their support.

"Workplace" Chemicals & Stress Damages Brain & Liver
The below study may explain the prevalence of Gulf War syndrome amongst Gulf war veterans (from their "workplace") but it may have relevance to another OH&S issue that I have covered previously - stress and ill health in the "modern" call centre and IT office. Consider the following, "cut & pasted" from an old presentation:
* An Australian Services Union found that 88% of employees in call centres suffered stress symptoms as a direct result of their work environment. The ASW survey found that the setting and monitoring of unrealistic productivity and efficiency targets translates into high levels of stress across the workplace. STRESS IS THE BODY'S REACTION TO A PERCEIVED THREAT TO SURVIVAL IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN HOMEOSTASIS. (Dr Hans Selye)
*In the US, The Director of the National Institute of Occupational health & Safety has stated that stress will be among the most important workplace problems of the 1990's and beyond. An estimated 54% of workplace absences due to stress.
*In 1997, the UK Manufacturing, Sciences and Finance Union (MSF) surveyed its members in 423 workplaces. The survey found that 81% reported stress as a serious problem in their workplaces, 72% said it was worse than a year before, and 74% said it was worse than five years before.
*In 1993 up to 1 in 10 Swedish white collar workers had health problems (stress symptoms) apparently caused by working near electrical office equipment, mainly VDU usage. In 1996 the number of affected workers had doubled.
*A report by the (Australian) CSIRO's Thermal and Fluids Engineering Dept. found in one new office building, (which is typical), that the amount of volatible organic compounds (VOCs) in one cubic meter of air was up to 10,000 micrograms - well above the NH&MRC limit of 500 mg. VOCs include Benzine, formaldehyde, styrene, methanol, acetone, toluene and dichlorbenzine.
*Up to 30 percent of the plastic casing in a computer, fax machine, printer, TV, etc. can consist of flame retardants. A group of flame retardants, PBDE are almost identical in their chemical structure to PCB. Some levels in plastic casings are so high that there is an oily PBDE residue on the surface that can rub off and be smelt on the fingers.
*"PCBs are known to bind to the thyroid gland which regulates many functions such as behaviour, hunger, if one feels cold or warm, explains professor Aake Bergman. We now have indications from Holland that flame retardants bind in the same way as PCB does."
*Some of the chemical emissions from office place electrical equipment, such as VDUs are isocyanates, furanes, formaldehyde and polybrominated diphenyl ethers.
*Research by the Karolinska Institute in Sweden has found that since 1972 levels of brominated flame retardants in human breast milk are "dramatically" increasing annually. These substances are related to PCB, which is known to be harmful.
*Swedish research, as reported in the Journal of Environmental Science & Technology (Sept 15) by the American Chemical Society found that Triphenyl phosphate - a chemical found in the plastic of VDUs outgasses during operation and is a known allergin. Reactions range from itching and nasal congestion to headaches. Lead author of study stated: " Computers are a significant source of allergenic emissions. The researchers found appreciable air concentrations of Triphenyl phosphate in 10 of 18 new monitors tested. Emission levels dropped sharply after 8 days of continuous operation but remained 10 times higher than background levels after 183 days.
So if we combine this potent mix of chemicals in the modern office and then combine that with high levels of workplace stress what may be the long-term implications for office workers?

WHO 'Suppressed' Scientific Study into Depleted Uranium Cancer Fears in Iraq?
The February 12th message, "- Precaution and the Flat Earth Council of the Netherlands" examined, among other things, the Health Council of the Netherlands' astonishing report on the safety of Depleted Uranium. That report is at:

Compare that to the following article and then remember that the enlightened Health Council has also denounced the principle of precaution and declared that it is totally safe for children to have unrestricted use of mobile phones.
