Abstract:

A decoy and deception concept presently being considered is to remotely create the perception of noise in the heads of personnel by exposing them to low power, pulsed microwaves. When people are illuminated with properly modulated low power microwaves the sensation is reported as a buzzing, clicking, or hissing which seems to originate (regardless of the person's position in the field) within or just behind the head. The phenomena occurs at average power densities as low as microwatts per square centimeter with carrier frequencies from 0.4 to 3.0 GHz. By proper choice of pulse characteristics, intelligible speech may be created. Before this technique may be extended and used for military applications, an understanding of the basic principles must be developed. Such an understanding is not only required to optimize the use of the concept for camouflage, decoy and deception operations but is required to properly assess safety factors of such microwave exposure.

Teens and mobile phones

Message from Janet Newton, The EMR Policy Institute, USA

The increase in the teen and pre-teen market for all manner of wireless devices and services contributes substantially to the current buildout of antenna sites in suburbia -  in residential neighborhoods, near schools, at shopping malls, etc. The wireless industry now spends significant time marketing just to teens as evidenced in the Washington Post and UK The Guardian articles found below.

At the same time the UK's Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones (The Stewart Group), advised in May, 2000 and reiterated in January, 2004, that: http://www.iegmp.org.uk/report/clarification.htm

Children are likely to be more vulnerable to any unrecognised health risks from mobile phone use than are adults. As a general rule the Expert Group considers that children less than 16 years of age should be discouraged from using mobile phones.

From the Journal of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine comes this review of governmental policies, scientific research and marketing practices aimed at children internationally:

Comment from Dr. Miguel Muntané:

REMEMBER:

Greatest Biological Experiment on Human Beings Ever ! Microwave radiation is a silent killer eating your life away.

* The radiation emitted by a cell phone is 2 billion times stronger than the natural background radiation.

Human brain waves are disturbed and distorted within a distance of 90 metres from a cell phone.

Children and youth are about three times more exposed and vulnerable to irreversible damage from microwave radiation because their brain, immune system and organisms are not fully developed.

At least 40 years of scientific research documenting the harmful effects of electromagnetic and in particular microwave radiation, is neglected, denied and purposely suppressed by both cell phone companies and authorities alike.

* The permit limit for microwave radiation has not been determined by doctors and biologists, based on trials on animals and humans, but by technicians and solely from the amount of radiation it takes to warm up a bag of sugar water with 1 degree Celsius.

A Quarter of 7 to 10 year olds now have a mobile Phone

Front Page Daily Telegraph (UK)

[Date not sent but I believe it was within the last several days-Don]

A quarter of 7 to 10 year olds own mobile phones, according to a survey published yesterday. The figures show that the proportion of primary school pupils with mobiles has almost doubled from 13 per cent in 2001. Campaigners criticized mobile phone companies for marketing handsets to children when some scientists have suggested they are more at risk of possible health dangers.

Alasdair Philips of the consumer group Powerwatch said 'Children should not use mobile phones because their brain cells are still developing and are more likely to suffer serious long term health consequences. 'It is immoral and should be illegal for phone companies to offer large amounts of free off peak calls as they encourage children to chat for long periods putting them in even more danger.'

Research published in 2001 by Om Gandhi, Professor of electrical and computer engineering at Utah University, suggested a child's brain absorbs 50-70 per cent more of the emissions from a mobile phone than an adults. Last night Prof Ghandhi said' That is because of the relatively thinner outer ear and because of the closer proximity of the telephone to the head.'

Yesterday's findings came in a survey of 2000 children and their parents by the market analyst Mintel. Jenny Caitlin, the company's consumer analyst said 'Many parents find it reassuring to be able to get in touch with their children at any time and some consider mobile phones important for their children's safety.'

An independent committee of experts set up by the government recommended 4 years ago that under 16's should use the handsets only in emergencies because they were more vulnerable t o potential health dangers. Sir William Stewart a former government chief scientist who led the committee said he would recommend that his grandchildren did not use mobile phones.

A spokesman for the mobile operators association suggested yesterday that security benefits of children carrying phones outweighed possible unknown health fears. She added 'All mobiles sold in the UK comply with international health and safety exposure guidelines. These apply to all sections of the population, including children.

Brain Tricks

is the technological card". "Wireless computers, central info systems and advanced wireless networks will help to treat the crime, the terror and car accidents. So why do we need two policemen in the police car? one writes email and the other one reads info from the computerized archive" [wireless, of course]. ("Robocop is coming back" Asaf Margalit, Maariv, business 29.4.2004)

By the way, we are not told in the article what technologies they are talking about. No name of any technology.  Is  this Tetra, for example?

We shouldn't probably care, we just need to say thanks, because our police was going to crush if not be saved by wireless.

Crazy. Things are just crazy here.
