U.S. government keeps data of innocent Americans for up to 75 years
According to a new report by the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law, the phone and Internet data collected on millions of innocent Americans as part of the U.S. government s counter-terrorism program can be retained "for up to 75 years or more."

'America is at a crossroads,' Obama said at the National Defense University in May. 'We must define the nature and scope of this struggle, or else it will define us.' The president proceeded to set out his post-war vision for the nation, the peace dividend earned for the last 12 years of a complicated, costly and at times tragically misguided counterterrorism policy.
