Obamas 'Kill-at-Will' Strategy
By Glen Ford
Obama s masquerade as a purveyor of U.S. 'soft power' is over. Thinly cloaked as NATO, the Americans displayed their ability to 'kill-at-will' with the attack on Gaddafi s residence, the same weekend that bin Laden was erased.' The intended audience includes all who would resist U.S. empire.

Expert: bin Laden's DNA results are inconsistent
A Fort Worth DNA expert says that no results from DNA samples from Osama bin Laden s body after he was killed in a U.S. raid on his hideout in Pakistan have been disclosed by U.S. government officials and that any media reports about the DNA are inaccurate.

Shortly after the White House announced that it had conducted an operation that killed terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, news organizations began clammoring for visual proof. The Associated Press, Politico and Fox News were among them, along with a host of advocacy groups. Yesterday, National Public Radio (NPR) said it was joining the demand to see evidence of bin Laden s death, filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the White House...

The most dangerous person in the world is the President of the United States no matter who holds the office. The president, whether his name is George W. Bush or Barack Obama, is the most dangerous person in the world because whoever the president is now wields unlimited and unbridled power. The very office of 'President' has become dangerous because its power is now unconstrained, unchecked and unchallenged by anyone or any organization, inside or outside of government...

When US Representative Steve King learned that Osama bin Laden had been killed by US troops in Pakistan, he couldn t resist a little crowing about the efficacy of torture. A wider war on terror
The American Prospect

A week after the death of Osama bin Laden, Congress is expanding the war on terror. Last week s raid on bin Laden s compound in Abbottabad was made possible by the 2001 Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF), which empowered the president to bring those involved in the 9/11 attacks to justice. But since then, that authorization has also been used by both the Obama and Bush administrations to justify attacks against suspected targets abroad who were not directly involved in the 9/11 attacks. Legal experts have questioned whether the 2001 AUMF explicitly grants that authority...

NATO Strikes Qaddafi Compound in Tripoli
C. J. Chivers and J. David Goodman, The New York Times: 'A day after rebels reclaimed the airport in the contested western city of Misurata, explosions echoed across Tripoli early Thursday morning as NATO warplanes struck a large compound belonging to Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi and other areas of the capital, news reports said. Libyan state television said the airstrike had hit Qaddafi s compound, Bab al-Azaziya, but did not describe which buildings in the sprawling area had been damaged, The Associated Press reported. State television also reported damage to the North Korean Embassy from the bombing, Reuters said.'
