During the 2008 election, Barack Obama made more than 500 promises, if the website PolitiFact.com is to be believed. According to PolitiFact, which is a project of the St. Petersburg (Fla.) You might think that with the Iraq War thoroughly discredited and recent polls showing that a majority of the public favors reducing defense spending, cutting the Pentagons bloated budget would finally be on the table. Or at least you'd expect Democrats would propose cutting military spending instead of home-heating subsidies for the poor. But you'd be wrong...
