Im vergangenen Jahr waren 284.000 Menschen in Deutschland wohnungslos. Damit stieg die Zahl im Vergleich zu 2010 um 15 Prozent. Das teilt die Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Wohnungslosenhilfe e.V. (BAGW) mit. Der Verband rechnet bis zum Jahr 2030 mit einem Anstieg von 30 Prozent. Grund sind vor allem zu hohe Mieten, Verarmung und Sanktionierungen von Hartz IV-Beziehern. Viele der Betroffenen kommen bei Verwandten oder Freunden unter, andere führt der Verlust der Wohnung in die Obdachlosigkeit.
