Dissent Continues One Year After BP Disaster

Rose Aguilar, Truthout: 'Gulf Coast resident Foytlin marked the one-year anniversary of the BP oil disaster by walking 1,243 miles from New Orleans to Washington, DC, to remind the country that even though the Obama administration and BP claim that life in the Gulf is back to normal, facts on the ground prove otherwise. She says people are experiencing everything from kidney damage to skin lesions, wildlife is dying, the economic devastation continues and the ecosystem has forever been damaged. Foytlin arrived in DC on April 14 after 34 days of rainstorms, heat exhaustion, tornadoes and countless blisters. She says it was worth it.'

US Kills 23 People In Pakistan

How many family members, friends, neighbors and villagers of the 'five children and four women' we just killed are now consumed with new levels of anti-American hatred?

Vorratsdaten: Ich weiß, was du getan hast...

AK Vorrat fordert europaweites Vorratsdatenspeicherungs-Verbot

Kissinger Calls For US Ground Invasion Of Libya

Globalists want protracted war to last through 2012

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Friday, April 22, 2011

Despite the fact that the United States is embroiled in three major conflicts and can barely service its own gigantic debt, with Standard and Poor this week indicating the US will soon lose its triple-A credit rating, top globalist and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger recently told fellow elitists at three different globalist confabs that the US needs to launch a ground invasion of Libya and keep the war running for at least another year.

How corporations avoid paying income taxes

The San Francisco Chronicle
by Kathleen Pender

04/21/11

With all the talk about how companies like General Electric and Cisco pay no or very low U.S. taxes, reader Hal Helfan of Oakland wants to know why cant there be an alternative minimum tax for corporations like there is for individuals, to make sure that companies cant use loopholes to wipe out their tax burden. 'If the AMT rate were set appropriately, it would probably be easier to lower the corporate tax rate and would definitely be a boon to small corporations that dont get much benefit from tax credits,' he writes. In fact there is a corporate AMT, and it works very much like the individual AMT...

Barbara Boxer Is New Senate Champion Against Afghan War

Robert Naiman, Truthout: 'When Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold lost his bid for re-election, advocates working to end the war in Afghanistan lost their champion in the Senate. It was Feingold s office that introduced the bill, introduced the amendment, circulated the letter, led the lobbying of other offices and led the charge in the media. Now California Sen. Barbara Boxer has reintroduced Feingold s bill requiring the president to establish a timetable for the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan - a timetable with an end date. So far, Sens. Dick Durbin, Tom Harkin, Kirsten Gillibrand and Sherrod Brown have signed on as co-sponsors of Senator Boxer s bill. The reintroduction of this bill is extremely timely and important, for two reasons.'

The Mad Genius of Donald Trump

William Rivers Pitt, Truthout: 'Stick your nose into the air and smell the panic emanating from RNC headquarters. It is bad enough that they have to contend with potential presidential runs by the likes of Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich. Now they're staring down the barrel of a full-fledged freak storm, a demented slapstick comedy starring The Donald as The Donald in 'The Donald.'

GOP Begins New Push to Delay EPA Rules on Toxic Power Plant Emissions

Lisa Song, SolveClimate News: 'The rules in question are EPA s air toxics standards to control mercury and other poisonous substances from power plants, as well as the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards that govern hazardous emissions from boilers and cement plants. EPA released the nation s first regulations for toxic power plant emissions on March 16. The boiler rules were announced in February 2011 and the cement standards in August 2010. All of the policies are mandated by the 1990 amendment to the Clean Air Act and originally set to be finalized in 2000.'
