A study on lung cancer risks in Sweden, USA and Japan was accepted for publication Nov 3, 2011 by ISRN Biophysics. ( http://www.isrn.com/journals/biophysics/aip/124803/ ) [ http://www.sgll.nu/MedPub/Ref37.pdf ]

The study shows that the risks in Sweden and in the USA are similar for the same smoking profile while in Japan the risk is lower and the survival longer. It is concluded that differences in population exposure to cancer risk factors other than smoking should be searched for.
